The Douglas County Republican Central Committee is hosting a Town Hall at CVIC Wednesday June 19 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00p.m. If you live in Douglas, Churchill, Lyon or Storey County you will want to hear what transpired during the 80th legislative session that just ended June 3 from your state senator and assemblyman. This 120 day session was impactful to all Nevadans.
Bills were proposed or passed on gun control, national popular vote, water rights, same day voter registrations, abortion and much more. Senator Settelmeyer and Assemblyman Wheeler will explain what happened and what we can expect as a result. They will also take questions from those in attendance.
Josh Skaggs, Legislative Affairs Director for the Nevada Republican Party, author of ‘The Carson City Update’ blog will share his thoughts of this legislative session from a Republican point of view
Also,we invited the Douglas County Commissioners Wes Rice and Dave Nelson and Sheriff Dan Coverley. They will take questions concerning issues affecting Douglas County and the Sheriff’s Office. Clerk/Treasurer Kathy Lewis Clark can talk to same day voter registration.
With the Town Hall right at dinner time, DCRCC will host a Hot Dog BBQwith all the fixing and sodas that atendees can enjoy free of chargebefore we start.
