Putting a Face to the Republican Party with the New Neighbor Program

The Nevada Republican Club, the largest Republican club in the State, is launching its Welcome New Neighbor Program in collaboration with the NV State GOP with the goals of welcoming new residents into the State, introducing them to the various conservative clubs, encouraging them to attend and participate in Republican activities and to increase voter registration.  The overall purpose is to help grow the Conservative Clubs in Clark County, all of which keep their members informed of public policies and interesting events and which motivate their activists during and after election season.

With droves of citizens from the West and East Coast trying to escape the every-increasing tax burdens of their states, Nevada is once again experiencing population growth reminiscent of the 1990s.   Clark County and Washoe County are in a prolonged housing boom with more buyers than sellers.  Rental homes are a scarcity and rental rates are going through the roof.

Many of these new residents were registered Republicans or lean conservative in their former states and have moved to Nevada where they can find cheaper housing, work remotely or start a new business.  Nevada Republican Club hopes to register these new  residents to vote at  their new residential address to clean up the voter rolls.

Nevada Republican Club believes there is a real need to reach out to these new neighbors who may want tips on how to navigate the community, where to find conservative events and/or meet elected officials and candidates.   By welcoming these new neighbors with information on the various Conservative Clubs, the Nevada Republican Club hopes that these new neighbors will become more engaged in civic affairs.  Armed with a giftbag full of useful goodies and tools, the Club’s members will be welcoming these new residents to our community and help establish a social network.

The Club is primarily a social club that meets monthly on the 1st Tuesday of each month at the Ahern Hotel & Convention Center located at 300 West Sahara Avenue right off of the I-15 Freeway.  Every month, the Club features a speaker (elected official, candidate, civic leader) to educate its members on civic issues and public policies, and to promote sound, honest and ethical government at all levels.  Its monthly newsletter is full of information about Republican activities and events.  For a nominal annual fee of $25.00, members receive discounted luncheon pricing and various benefits.  This year, the Club is celebrating its 40th Anniversary at its Fall Social.  More information on the Fall Social will be posted on its website, www.nevadarepublicanclub.com.  You can also find the Nevada Republican Club on Facebook and on Twitter @nrcgopclub.  To participate in our Welcome New Neighbor Program, email your name and zip code to pauline@nevadarepublicanclub.com
