Las Vegas, NV – NVGOP Chairman Michael J. McDonald released the following in response to Assembly Democrats excluding Assemblywomen Jill Dickman and Annie Black from participation on the Assembly floor:
“Today, Assembly Democrats silenced the voices of tens of thousands of Nevadans when they unconstitutionally targeted Republican Assemblywomen Jill Dickman and Annie Black for daring to stand up for their right to privacy. Preventing our elected Representatives from debating and voting on behalf of Nevadans is ridiculous and disenfranchises their constituents.
This is just absurd. First, Democrats introduce terrible “emergency” bills at the last minute, setting short notice hearings on the weekend, and then they kick out Republican legislators who might object to them rushing through bad bills. From the beginning, Democrats have exploited the pandemic for political gain, and they are still doing it, even after the release of more sensible CDC guidelines.
The Nevada Republican Party is opposed to these political stunts. We stand in firm opposition to vaccine passports and the insensitive request for COVID-19 vaccination or medical history of any individual. We stand in solid support of our Assemblywomen who work tirelessly to represent the people of the Silver State.”
