Nevada Republican Party Statement on Gov. Sisolak Ending Mask Mandates

LAS VEGAS – If you are covering Governor Sisolak’s recent press conference lifting the Nevada mask mandate, please consider the following from the Nevada Republican Party:

“Today, we’d like to thank the Governor of Nevada Gavin Newsom for lifting the mask mandate in Nevada, and having his assistant Steve Sisolak carry out the order.

Finally, Nevadans get to follow the science and are rid of his unconstitutional mask mandate. Nevadans are fully capable of assessing the risks of COVID-19 and making their own choices accordingly. As we see COVID cases higher today than when Newsom’s puppet first re-imposed his mask mandate in July 2021, it’s more evident than ever that his actions are politically motivated.

Instead of following suit with other liberal governors, Governor Sisolak should do what is right for Nevadans and cease his abuse of emergency powers, and declare an end to the emergency in Nevada as we re-open and repair the damage he has inflicted the past four years. ”
