Las Vegas, NV — The Nevada Republican Party fully supports Governor Joe Lombardo’s bold and necessary call for the release of federal lands to alleviate the state’s housing shortage. With nearly 87% of Nevada’s land controlled by the federal government, our ability to grow, build, and provide affordable housing for working families is being choked by bureaucratic red tape in Washington.
The Governor’s leadership in pushing for a resolution that encourages the release of federal lands is a critical step in solving our state’s housing crisis. As Governor Lombardo highlighted, rising inflation, soaring interest rates, and a shrinking housing inventory have placed an unbearable burden on Nevada families.

For decades, Nevada has been forced to operate at a disadvantage compared to other states, thanks to Washington’s stranglehold on our land. Now, Nevadans are paying the price, with skyrocketing housing costs and limited opportunities for development, particularly in our rural communities.
