Sergeant First Class (SFC) Dixie L. Thompson, US Army Retired
better known as Sergeant Dixie, was born and raised in Northern Iowa and attended the University of Northern Iowa before entering the Womens Army Corps in 1973.
SFC Thompson served as one of the first women Military Police (MP) and was the first to be assigned to a combat MP unit in 1974 in Germany. She later served as a Military Intelligence Traffic Analyst, Linguist and Cryptanalyst stateside, in Korea and Hawaii.
