Cowardly Cortez Masto refuses to say where she stands on economy-killing tax increase on resort industry

Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto refused to answer whether she supports increasing corporate taxes on Nevada’s struggling resort industry.

With the resort industry left in shambles from pandemic lockdowns, the Biden administration’s $3.5 trillion spending proposal would hike taxes on the Silver State’s economic engine, putting Nevada’s economic recovery at risk of further damage.

In August, Nevada’s unemployment rate remained the highest in the nation at 7.7%, and this proposal would put the state even further behind.

Now is not the time to be raising taxes on the state’s most critical industry, yet Cortez Masto remains tight-lipped about where she stands. The first-term senator owes Nevadans answers.

Bottom Line: Instead of hiding her stance on raising taxes on Nevada’s resort industry, Catherine Cortez Masto needs to put the interests of Nevadans over the interests of Chuck Schumer and Joe Biden and reject this economy-killing proposal.
