Republicans Lead on Developing a Plan to Reopen Nevada

With Governor Sisolak missing in action, Nevada Republicans are leading the way on coming up with a plan for how to reopen Nevada.

Yesterday, the Assembly Republicans released their framework for how we can get people safely back to work while safeguarding the health and safety of Nevadans.

The human toll this virus has taken on families’ financial well-being has been breathtaking, and Nevadans are looking to its local leaders to step up and protect their livelihoods.

Yet Governor Sisolak continues to be missing in action.

That’s why the Nevada Republican Party launched ads in the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Reno Gazette Journal to force Governor Sisolak to come up with plan for how we can get Nevada reopened for business

Sisolak’s lack of preparation for Nevada’s future stands in stark contrast to President Trump, who released his comprehensive “Opening Up America Again” plan last week.

And even our local business leaders are coming up with plans, with Wynn Resorts CEO Matt Maddox detailing a plan to reopen earlier this week.

While the federal government, Republican legislators, and business executives are looking ahead toward Nevada’s future; Sisolak is nowhere to be found.

Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman echoed calls for a plan to reopen Nevada yesterday, saying she had the greatest respect for President Trump’s plan and urged Sisolak to act on it.

Yesterday, Las Vegas business owner Derek Stonebarger stressed to KSNV-3 just how critical it is for our entrepreneurs to hear a plan to reopen the state.

“Telling us a date is very important from a business owner perspective,” Stonebarger said. “There are a lot of things that need to be prepared and a lot of things that need to get in line in order to reopen and in order to reopen safely.”

It’s time for Governor Sisolak to emerge from the shadows and join President Trump, Republican legislators, local leaders, and business executives in presenting a plan to reopen Nevada.

People’s lives are at stake.
