SUMMARY:2025 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree Ornament Submission Information
DESCRIPTION:10\,000 individual handmade ornaments are needed to decorate Nevada’s first ever U.S Capitol Christmas Tree. \nThe Forest Service is calling on Nevadans to craft thousands of handmade ornaments to decorate the Capitol Christmas Tree and accompanying smaller trees. This includes 3\,500 brightly-colored ornaments\, nine to twelve inches in size\, that are weatherproof to withstand wind\, rain\, and snow.  An additional 6\,500 smaller ornaments\, four to ten inches in size\, will adorn the indoor trees and don’t need to be weatherproof.   \nThe Humbold-Toiyabe and partners will host ornament-making events throughout the year. Look for an event or craft and submit an ornament on your own. Ideas for interpreting the 2025 theme include:   \n\nUniquely Nevada- capture the spirit of “Home Means Nevada” \n\n\nIconic landscapes and special places in Nevada \n\n\nMultiple use and how Nevadans enjoy their public lands \n\n\nThe wild plants\, animals\, and geology of Nevada \n\n\nSmokey Bear and Woodsy Owl \n\nCreate your ornament using natural\, recyclable\, and repurposed materials. Don’t use sharp materials that could pose a danger or interfere with tree lighting. Ornaments may not include commercial logos or be divisive or offensive. Ornaments cannot be returned.   \nThe deadline to submit ornaments is September 15\, 2025. SUMMARY:Nevada Republican Club Meeting (Southern Nevada)
DESCRIPTION:The club hosts monthly luncheons the first Tuesday of each month at Ahern Hotel and Convention Center in Las Vegas. The luncheon doors open at 11:00am with business networking until noon. \nEach luncheon features a guest speaker who shares information with attendees about conservative government and business issues. The President introduces all attending Republican elected officials and candidates\, giving attendees an opportunity to meet and see those who represent them and work on their behalf. \nThe meetings end at 1:00pm\, and many members often staying behind to mingle. The cost for a luncheon ticket purchase is $50. Members may reserve a ticket without using a credit card by selecting “Pay At Door RSVP-Member”. This requires payment with cash or check at the door (no credit cards). Walk-ins are welcome on a space available basis.
